Mutual Funds
Mutual funds are the safer route for sensitive investors, however, since they are companies that buy up pieces of stocks for individual shareholders. Since new shares appear each day, investors have little control over the stock "pieces" they actually own. No-load funds don't charge for buying or selling fund shares. Load mutual funds charge loading fees dependent on the fund manager. The net asset value or NAV, of the fund per share on the day of purchase sets the purchase price.
