The "Hot Topic", Internet Marketing, is exactly what we need to discuss and decide what is the best course of action for E-businesses. I've outlined the marketing strategies that were discussed at our local network meeting.
Cross Media Advertising
At this point, I suggest that we do not use this type of advertising at this time. This type of advertising can be costly. It can include magazine, television and radio advertising. We have a defined customer base, and most media advertising will not reach our target market. This would be the least effective advertising method at this time.
Banner Advertising
I would use type of advertising but on a limited basis. I would only subscribe to banner advertising programs that allow e-businesses to reach its target market. Example: a banner ad on Weigh Watchers discussion forums.
Although I would not consider this type of advertising the most effective way to reach our customer base, Grandma's Treats could consider this type of advertising if we can approach the appropriate forums and other good placements. Here are some examples of banner advertising companies. They help you reach your target markets by charging a small (per click) fee. http://www.i-web-marketing.com/ and http://extrememarketingprogram.com/ .
Search engine registration
This is a must for any Internet based company. This type of advertising is free, and it allows for your website to be located when a potential customer puts in keywords related to Grandma's Treats products. This is one of the less effective ways to advertise, however considering it only takes a little bit of time and it's free, it doesn't make sense not to use this medium. Everyone uses a search engine when they want to find something. There are many types of companies that offer optimizer at a reasonable cost. They include such services as: one form to fill out, Meta Tag Generator, Surveillance, auto monthly submissions and more for $9.95 a month. One example of this is: http://www.blastengine.com/ .
Affiliate programs
We can create affiliate programs with our restaurant chain clients. This can be a very useful tool on their website. It allows them to advertise our cookies on their website, and we give them a percentage of all the cookies they sell via their website. Examples of these kinds of programs can be found at http://www.affiliateprograms.com/ . Here is a simple "How to" instructions on how we can get started. It outlines which software we will need along with monthly costs we can incur.
